Last night I tried something new. Most nights I try to cram in some fantasy baseball research and share what I’ve learned through a few tweets. Researching players and leaderboards is the easy part, but crafting the tweets takes a decent amount of time. I try to figure out what the most compelling data for each player is and share it in an accessible way. But 280 characters is 280 characters, and it’s not enough to share all the interesting data on a player, some contextual factors, and what it means for fantasy owners.
So last night I decided to record some audio notes of the two players I researched and tweeted about–Willson Contreras and Manuel Margot. It’s not a podcast (yet!) and the production quality is low (one of my friends said it sounded like I was trying not to wake the kids up, which is actually correct), but it was quick, easy and provides me with the opportunity to go in-depth on each player, share more of what I see in the data and what it may mean for the future. I hope it’s helpful.
Here are the tweets on Contreras (1, 2) and Margot (1, 2), if you prefer the quick and tidy summary.
If you’d like more in-depth analysis, you can find the audio here:
As this is my first time providing these types of audio notes, I’d love to hear your feedback. What did you like or dislike? What information was helpful or not? Let me know what you think in the comments or on Twitter. Thanks for … listening!
